Styles and Co gets Ironman Dave Clamp on the road
In September Frodsham’s Dave Clamp will be competing in his toughest challenge to date; 30 Ironman competitions in 30 days when he takes part in the Triple Deca Ironman Challenge in Lake Garda.
Ex teacher, now triathlete Dave (aged 53) has completed over 100 marathons and many tough endurance events; 10 Triple Ironman challenges and 40 ironman triathlons. He came second in the 2010 World Deca Iron Challenge, third in Sicily’s Pergusa Deca Iron and last year ran 1357 miles from London to Rome to raise money for the Parkinson’s disease. When Dave isn’t training or competing he runs his own business, providing personal training services, running boot camps and giving motivational talks at events around the region.
Warrington based Styles and Co have been inspired by Dave, not only are many of the team attending his weekly Boot Camps, affectionately known as ‘Boot Clamps’, as they train for their own challenge (the Total Warrior in August) but the firm of Chartered Accountants have provided Dave with his carbon fibre Aero Dynamic Racing bike (costing over £2,000) so he can train and compete in his forthcoming competitions.
Ian Lloyd, Managing Partner of Styles and Co commented “we are very proud to be able to provide Dave with financial support for his 2013 Challenges. Over the last 6 months he has very much become part of our team, his enthusiasm and commitment to his own training and work has been extremely motivational and infectious and I personally have benefited greatly from his leadership and guidance during our training sessions”
Dave comments “I’m thoroughly enjoying working with the team and seeing their progress is an inspiration to me. Having their support and backing is a real boost in many ways and the new carbon fibre bike is already being put to very good use during my training. Their support has in turn motivated me to increase my training intensity.”
